Amy grew up in the Central Coast area of California and earned her BFA in Creative Writing from the University of California at Santa Cruz. She completed her MA in Education at UC Santa Cruz, with an emphasis in Language Arts/Bilingual Education. Amy taught at a small, innovative public school based on the Coalition of Essential Schools model. Amy taught Composition, Creative Writing, and Philosophy to a diverse group of students.
Amy worked as Director/ Associate Dean of Instruction and Branch Campus Director at a local art and design college, from 2009-2014.
Amy and her husband Tom live in Corrales with their two dogs. She loves to garden, hike, write, draw and paint.
