Religious Studies Department Chair
John Sitler is a native of Philadelphia whose love of history led him to serve as a Park Ranger at Independence Hall during college summers. Graduating from Yale College as a Religious Studies major, he pursued graduate study in International Development at the University of Pennsylvania, and a M.Div. at Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary. He also served two terms with the Peace Corps, first as an English teacher in Gabon, and then working with water resource technology in Mali. John came to Menaul School in 1997 after a chaplain residency at Presbyterian Hospital. He enjoys singing with his choir at Immanuel Presbyterian Church and with Quintessence, a local performing choir.
