Residential Life Coordinator
Julie has recently joined the Menaul School Community as the Residential Life Coordinator. She is originally from Spartanburg, South Carolina and after High School, Julie moved to Asheville, North Carolina where she attended a small Presbyterian College (Montreat College). There, she obtained her BS in Outdoor Education and Environmental Science.
During and after college, Julie did a lot of travelling. She spent four months travelling around the United States and Canada, three months traveling around Europe, and two months traveling around West Africa. She not only enjoyed seeing parts of the world and its beauty, but also learning about the different cultures of the places she visited.
After her travels is when Julie started working with students of all ages. Julie started her career as the Assistant Director of Blue Ridge Outdoor Education Center in Toccoa, Georgia where she spent three years teaching Elementary, Middle, and High School students Environmental Education. She then moved back to Asheville, North Carolina to work for the next twelve years at a Therapeutic Boarding School for boys (Stone Mountain School) where she met her husband of ten years. While in Asheville, her and her husband had two boys; Craig (7yrs.) and Brody (6yrs.).
Before coming to Albuquerque, Julie was the Director of Residential Life for a College Preparatory Boarding/Day School in Atlanta, Georgia. While in Atlanta, Julie and her husband had another boy; Andrew (2yrs). When Julie has free time, she enjoys spending time with her kids, traveling, backpacking, snowboarding, and mountain biking.
Julie is thrilled to be a part of the Menaul School family. She is very excited to create wonderful relationships with our boarding students while teaching them to become responsible and independent young men and women which will prepare them for life in college.
