International High School Faculty Position:

Menaul School is currently seeking to fill a number of middle and high school teaching positions in line with a large expansion of our international schools in the cities of Qingdao and Taiyuan, China.

Starting Date: Immediate to August 2019

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Implement approved curricula to achieve student learning to Menaul standards and benchmarks for each grade or class;
  • Align courses to existing standards, including AP standards;
  • Demonstrate flexibility in adapting course content to Menaul community and standards;
  • Provide appropriate instructional classroom activities for students;
  • Maintain positive attitude and ensure classroom environment is conducive to student learning;
  • Provide timely feedback to students on their assignments;
  • Maintain at all times regular records of student performance and attendance;
  • Complete required reports and report cards within prescribed timeframes;
  • Regularly attend staff meetings and in-service training activities/professional development;
  • Maintain appropriate contact with students, academic advisors, and parents regarding student progress;
  • Develop realistic, context-based goals for student academic achievement;
  • Use and apply appropriate conflict resolution skills with students and coworkers;
  • Comply with Menaul School Employee Standards of Conduct, uphold and enforce rules, administrative directives, school policies, and all local, provincial, and national regulations.

Benefits:

  1. 18,000-25,000 RMB ($2,700-$3,770) monthly salary after tax commensurate with experience, education, and certification
  2. Housing allowance of 2,000 RMB ($300) monthly
  3. Roundtrip airfare stipend of 10,000 RMB ($1500) annually upon completion of contract
  4. Work visa and foreign expert’s certificate provided
  5. Standard medical and accident insurance
  6. Entitled to Chinese national holidays, including lengthy winter vacation and summer holiday

Minimum Requirements for Application:

  1. Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university in relevant field
  2. Willing to undergo period of teacher training and development at Menaul School, Albuquerque, New Mexico
  3. Ability to maintain high level of professionalism regarding students, staff, parents, and school matters
  4. Additional requirements may be applicable for specific positions

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Experience, and Abilities:

  1. Master’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university in relevant field
  2. Three years of teaching experience
  3. US state-level teaching certification in specified field, or other accredited state or national teacher certification, e.g. UK Qualified Teacher Status
  4. Experience implementing project-based learning approaches in the classroom
  5. Knowledge of effective classroom management techniques
  6. Ability to maintain positive relationship with administration, faculty, students
  7. Experience in international education or with English Language Learners (ELLs)
