Nick DePascal was born and raised in Tucson, Arizona. In 2004, he received his BA in Creative Writing from the University of Arizona before moving to Albuquerque with his wife, Erin, in 2005. After a few years working for The University of New Mexico as staff, Nick returned to school and earned his MFA in Creative Writing from UNM in 2013. Since then he has taught many different English courses at UNM before jumping at the chance to join Menaul School this year. Nick is excited to collaborate with his fellow faculty to teach the small, diverse community of learners here at Menaul School. He also looks forward to sharing his love for, and belief in, the power of great literature and good writing with his students.
Nick has published many poems, book reviews, and essays in a variety of literary journals and alternative weeklies. His first book, Before You Become Improbable, was published by West End Press in 2014. When Nick is not reading, writing, or teaching, he enjoys hiking, camping, and traveling with his family.
