Kait O’Brien (she/her) is a communications professional with over 7 years of experience in the digital space. She holds a B.A. in Psychology from CUNY City College and attended Pratt Institute. Kait has been on public relations, digital outreach, and web development teams for Dotdash Meredith, the New Mexico Environment Department (NMED), the New Mexico Mortgage Finance Authority (MFA) and JBS International’s Cooperative Agreement with the Department of Justice – Office of Victims of Crime. Kait led the development of the media strategy for NMED’s landmark Ozone rule proposed, and subsequently passed, to the NM Environmental Improvement Board in addition to being a critical part of the NMED website redesign project. At MFA, Kait led digital promotion strategy, the decorating committee, and marketing collateral coordination for the 3 day, 500 person event that is New Mexico’s premier Housing Conference, the 2022 New Mexico Housing Summit.

As a graphic designer and visual artist with a knack for PR storytelling, Kait has freelanced her diverse skillset for clients as wide ranged as local artspace 1415 Gallery, grassroots pollinator conservation group Pollinators in the Neighborhood, Free-to-Roam eBiking and more. In addition to her marketing and graphic design experience, she has exhibited two solo exhibitions, at BINGO Gallery and at Alpaca Gallery, both in Albuquerque. Kait has been a part of several group art exhibitions and publications including the collaborative project Migratory Yellow Pages at 516 ARTS, poetryxcollage Anthology: Volume 4, and Edge of Sleep at garagedoor Gallery. Kait additionally teaches printmaking, collage, poetry and social practice workshops at various venues in the Albuquerque area. Kait is also an avid rollerskater and runner. In her spare time, Kait likes reading, yoga, hiking, exploring New Mexico, and hanging out with her cat, Monique.
