Come on a summer adventure!
Encouraging a young person’s mind to be independent of the world’s influences starts with encouraging them to become self-thinkers. To do this, we expose them to adventures and opportunities to serve others. For example, one week is devoted to visiting different museums and learning about art, race cars, and science. Another week, the campers will experience the great outdoors with a trip up the Sandia Mountains on the Sandia Tram, a hiking excursion to the Jemez Mountains, and a trip to the Blue Hole in Santa Rosa.
These experiences help them see the world with others. At Adventure and Leadership Camp, counselors will encourage the campers to interact and to have leadership roles on these outings. Summer adventures keep the camper interacting with others and seeing the world outside a tv or computer screen. It’s how camps in the past encouraged hands-on interaction and experiences with other campers where relationships become a priority.
The campers will also have daily Bible time. We will read scripture and see how we might apply it to understand better and communicate with others. Hearing the scripture and then encouraging them to live out the scripture will promote the camper’s relationships and help them see the spiritual aspect of living out their faith with others.
