Dear Menaul School Parents, Grandparents and Guardians,
This is my sixth year as a Menaul School parent, and I have come to deeply appreciate our school’s completely unique ability to develop our children into adults who are ready to embrace their future with strong academic credentials, mindful compassion and true collaboration. Menaul’s students work across economically and culturally diverse peer teams in their classrooms, clubs, community service and athletics. Before having both of our children thriving at Menaul, we sampled a few highly rated local private and public charter schools which gave us a solid foundation for comparison. None of the other schools were even comparable and my husband and I have become avid supporters of Menaul School. Our children’s positive experiences at Menaul inspired me to become more involved in providing a solid future for Menaul, thus for the 2nd consecutive year, I am the chairperson for Menaul’s annual fundraiser, this year titled “Fund-A-Future” (formerly known as “Soiree”), which will be held February 21st at the Sid Cutter Pavilion at Balloon Fiesta Park. This letter comes to you as an appeal for your assistance with the success of this event.
During our first few years at Menaul, our family was completely unaware of the importance of the annual fundraising efforts, and so I am reaching out to you all to let you know how much this event means for our current and future students and to graciously ask for your assistance. Although Menaul is a private school and most families pay tuition, only a portion of the school’s expenses are covered by this revenue. Fundraising is vital for retaining our excellent staff, maintaining the charming campus and supporting our varied clubs, arts and athletics. Fundraising revenue is also used for facilitating academic scholarships to approximately 90% of our student body, making this unparalleled educational experience accessible to motivated and talented individuals.
Historically, our additional financial support has come from Alumni donations, the Historical Library, and the national and local Presbyterian Church organizations. For a variety of reasons, we need to reach out to a larger potential sponsorship audience for the future and this is where Menaul needs your help, so I have decided to make a bold request to you. The truth is that your employers will one day benefit from the excellent development your students received at Menaul!
Many Menaul graduates stay in New Mexico for their lifetime and contribute as corporate and community leaders. For this reason, I am asking that all our parents, grandparents, and guardians reach out to their employers (or connect with me and I would be happy to reach out to them) to ask that they consider being a partial event sponsor. There are varying levels of sponsorship participation, starting at $3,000 and I strongly believe that any organization who connects with our staff and student body now will reap the benefits of committed staff for many years to come! The job market in New Mexico struggles to find well trained staff and helping secure our students’ success now will provide long term talent sustainability for local organizations. Menaul will reciprocate by prominently marketing all sponsors at the Fund-A-Future event and will connect the sponsor’s organization with our students and staff and will continue to work with them for community service, summer employment and other possible partnerships between our organizations in the future.
Please take a moment to look at our Fund-A-Future sponsor package. I strongly encourage you to connect with your employer’s or nonprofit organization’s community engagement contact (or send their contact information to me and I am happy to reach out on Menaul’s behalf). You have the ability to help secure the future for Menaul and its students and your assistance is greatly appreciated!
If you would like to participate in other ways, the Fund-A-Future team is also looking for assistance with planning and putting on the event, attending and participating at the event (it is always fun!), or possibly by purchasing one of the trips that are auctioned off before and during the event. I look forward to getting to know you and working with you to continue to support the school that we love!
With sincere gratitude,
