We’re proud to celebrate a remarkable milestone achieved by one of our outstanding students at Menaul School! Congratulations to sophomore Luke Boatman, who has been selected to join the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) National Student Advisory Council (NSAC) — a national leadership role awarded to only 16 high school student leaders across the country.
Representing New Mexico with Panther Pride

Luke stands out as one of just two students selected to represent Section 6, which includes New Mexico, Texas, Colorado, Oklahoma, and Arkansas. His appointment reflects his exceptional leadership, academic excellence, and dedication to student advocacy — values that define the Menaul School experience.
“I feel honored to be selected as one of the few chosen for this position. I’m excited to learn and grow as a leader. I’m looking forward to being able to bring back everything I learn to Menaul, my district, and my state” – Luke Boatman
The NFHS, which supports more than 11 million high school students annually, is committed to developing the next generation of student leaders through programs like the National Student Advisory Council. By selecting students like Luke, NFHS is helping shape positive, engaged citizens who lead with purpose.
“Incredible attention is being paid to high school athletics and activities today. Student-athletes are often seen as leaders — both on and off the field — because of their visibility and influence. Their role in shaping the climate and culture of their schools is powerful, and their impact reaches far beyond competition.” — NFHS

Luke to Represent Menaul School & Athletics at NFHS National Summit
As part of this prestigious opportunity, Luke will represent Menaul School and our athletics program at the upcoming NFHS Summit. There, he’ll join fellow student leaders from around the country to discuss key issues facing high school students, extracurricular programs, and student-athlete leadership.
His voice will play a vital role in shaping the future of high school activities, athletics, and student engagement on a national level.

What Luke’s Role on the NSAC Involves
As a member of the NSAC, Luke will:
- Share student perspectives on high school life directly with NFHS leadership.
- Help create strategies to increase student engagement in extracurricular programs.
- Lead leadership workshops and activities at local, state, and national levels.
- Appear in public service announcements and interviews to champion student leadership.
- Join regular virtual meetings and engage in discussions that shape the future of student-athletes, artists, debaters, and young leaders across the nation.
This year’s group marks only the second cohort of students to serve on the NSAC since its launch in 2024 — making Luke’s selection all the more significant. His participation will not only elevate student voices on a national stage but also bring new insights and opportunities back to our Menaul community
Once again, congratulations, Luke! Your Menaul family is incredibly proud of you, and we can’t wait to see all that you accomplish in this prestigious role.
