For the remainder of the school year, Menaul School is extending a structured and interactive education to more Albuquerque area students! Connect your students with a caring and dynamic community of educators and students, and experience peace of mind knowing that your student will be prepared for their next year of studies.
This program is open to Middle or High School aged siblings of current students, former students, students of alumni, and friends of Menaul (referred by a Menaul School community member).
Some examples of the meaningful learning happening online at Menaul School:
8th grade science—topic, “Populations”: earlier this Spring, students took part in a mock internship with a company manufacturing biofuels from algae. Students grew algae and tracked population growth under various conditions, after designing their own experiments to test factors involved in algae growth. Now, they’re developing the company’s year-end newsletter to share their experimental findings about the value of learning about “populations”.
7th grade Language Arts—topic, The Book Thief: students discuss life during World War II, which helps students to put in perspective their own personal challenges during their time in isolation due to COVID-19. Students are to keep a Responsibility Journal; they take responsibility for a household chore and write every day about how taking this action improves their relationships.
Students participate in interactive lessons, and receive one-on-one attention during “office hours”.
