My Story

I’m from Avery Island, Louisiana and about as Acadienne (Cajun) as it comes. I graduated from New Mexico Military Institute, which is another college preparatory boarding school in New Mexico, in 2005. I then moved back to Louisiana to attend LSU on a military scholarship.

I found myself in Albuquerque in 2006 after Hurricanes Katrina and Rita and have been here ever since. I completed my undergrad at UNM earning two bachelors, one in Psychology and the other in Russian. That was followed up with my Masters of Social Work from Fordham University in Bronx, New York and hold my LMSW for the State of New Mexico.

Reyka

I joined the military as many of my family before me had done and serve in the United States Air Force but I am also the first in my family to pursue a college education. I am currently contemplating a pHd or DSW. I’m still deciding.

Outside of work I have a husband, two adult children and a pantheon of pets that keep me fairly busy, including a therapy dog, Reyka, who often helps me with my work.

WHY MENAUL?

I often joke that my own experience with college preparatory boarding school was ‘the most fun I never want to have again.’ There were times it was hard, yes, but it gave me experience and confidence that has allowed me to do anything I have ever put my mind to, and that is not exaggeration.

“These kids are the future and I want nothing more than to be a part of instilling that same experience and confidence that was given to me so that they can be the best versions of themselves.”
