My Story

I was inspired by my grandmother to go into the social work field. Her mother was a victim of domestic violence and my grandmother used that experience to open a safe house/refugee for women and children who were also victims of domestic violence. I had never heard about this bit of family history until I graduated from college and spent a week with my grandmother.

Teenagers are an incredible population to work with, as they are at a pivotal time in their lives. They are learning so much about themselves and paving the road to where life will take them. Teens need support, encouragement, and space to figure out who they are and it is an incredible thing to be a part of. I enjoy the relationships and connections I make doing social work.

What Do You Do For Fun?

Moving my body and being outside is what I love most. That can range from running, hiking, biking, walking, yoga, strength training, and boating. I also enjoy cooking and baking- spending lots of time in the kitchen!

Why Menaul?

When I came to apply I was immediately overcome by the kindness, honesty, openness, and community. The administration was open to learning about me and accommodating with my schedule. I was interested in the diverse culture and unique set up Menaul has created.

The students have been very welcoming and forthcoming with their emotions and any concerns or issues they are experiencing. It fills my cup knowing that students feel safe here and safe with me to open up and explore their situation deeper.
