My Story

I am married to Rev. Tom Davis Jr., a hospice chaplain. We have a lovely blended family that includes our little dog Lily and four adult children and a grandson. Unfortunately, they are spread out all over the country including California, Washington, Illinois and Mississippi. Needless to say, we feel so fortunate to have learned Zoom and look forward to resuming traveling so that we can see one another in person!

Horseback riding is my absolute favorite activity. I enjoy taking walks, reading and just getting together with friends and family.

Until recently I have been working a second fulltime job as a caregiver. As I resume some time for myself, I plan to begin to work on sharpening my professional skills in pursuit of becoming a Certified Fundraising Executive.

In my free time, I would like to work with horses more and begin to learn equine therapy.

What I Love About Menaul School

Menaul School truly values inclusivity, honors the gifts and uniqueness of each individual. Menaul seeks to provide both support and challenge to help them discover their sense of calling and to be all that they can be.

I love the opportunity to connect our supporters with our students. They are wonderful because they can see firsthand that their gifts truly help create access to a great education. That makes a powerful difference in the lives of our students and their futures.

While I don’t get to teach students in the classroom, it is so much fun getting to know them through their volunteerism or working with them as an advisor. I especially enjoy getting to know their personalities and watching them grow and succeed!

Menaul is a wonderful place to experience true diversity. Not only will your child(ren) grow in skills and knowledge, they will gain cross-cultural competencies and friendships that will prepare them for life and leadership in a world that is increasingly interconnected.

Melanie Davis has her M.Div. and an MBA

Hi, Melanie. We have been working together to develope a suitable memorial for my grandson, Michael. So, it was a pleasure to read your bio here. You are certainly an asset to Menaul and the larger community. May the Lord continue to bless you.
