Fine Arts Department Chair & Assistant Varsity Track Coach
Cindy loves being part of Menaul School’s small, intimate learning community, where there is ample room for collaboration, dialogue, and creativity.
Cindy joined the Menaul School faculty in 2013. Since that time, she has expanded the art offerings for Menaul School students, adding a fully functional darkroom and digital photo capabilities. Among her proudest accomplishments is the “Luanem Gallery” a dedicated exhibition space for both students and community artists. Each fall, in order to bring artists-in-residence to our school, Cindy organizes an exhibit/fundraiser/party of highly accomplished visual artists from Albuquerque and well beyond.
Although Cindy is a native New Mexican, she was raised out of state, mostly in Texas and California, returning home to study and raise her family. Cindy received art and education degrees in New Mexico and Utah and has more than 26 years of classroom experience in both private and public schools. She currently acts as Menaul School’s Visual Arts Teacher, Art Department Chair, and Cross Country Coach.
Cindy has been a working artist for twenty-nine years, and she frequently serves as a juror/instructor for a wide variety of exhibitions and museums. Her work has been shown in galleries and publications in Arizona, Colorado, New York, and Texas and can be seen regularly in local galleries and museums.
