President and Head of School
Lindsey celebrates 10 years as Head of Menaul School. Making him the third longest tenured President/Head of School in Menaul School’s 120 year history.
Gilbert remarked, “As I lead and manage this great school, much of my motivation comes from a sense of legacy. I want to carry on our great legacy of serving New Mexicans from all over the state with an excellent, transformative education. Now with our growing boarding population, we are expanding this legacy to include American students from other states, international students, as well as helping schools in other countries. However, our legacy has always been teaching students to ‘Do well and live well.’ Our students thrive in school and life plus they give back to the community. They develop good hearts at Menaul School and I am most proud of that legacy.”
He comes to Menaul School after serving and being part of the renaissance of two other Presbyterian related schools including 5 years at Rabun Gap-Nachoochee School (GA), where he was the Assistant Head of School, and 17 years at Wasatch Academy (UT), where he held the same role. He also has served as Head of Cambridge Academy (SC), and early in his career as the High School Principal at Academia Los Pinares in Tegucigalpa Honduras.
Lindsey’s teaching background is in the subjects of English and Religion. He also has an extensive resume as a soccer, basketball, and baseball coach. With his free time, Lindsey likes to cross country ski, bike, read, and hunt with his French Brittany Spaniel, Tex. He is the proud parent of 5 grown children including one newly minted Menaul School graduate (who was transformed at Menaul School). This July he will joyfully celebrate 35 years of marriage to his wife Laurie.
